Weather perked up yesterday and today, so another busy couple of days with the Beckenham Boys. Yesterday James and I rode the tandem to Headcorn Airfield and back. James getting bigger and stronger now and has a good balance and is a safe rider. The cafe was open so it was loads of unhealthy food whilst waiting for Sue and Alex to arrive by car. We all had a great time watching parachuting , wing walking and a Spitfire take off and land.
So glad the weather improved for the weekend, I was pleased for the cafe especially as they have had a long closure during lockdown. A good ride home with a walk up Wierton Hill then we bought our fresh local strawberries from Ralph’s Farm Shop. James can eat then on the move as he doesn’t need to use his hands! Just over 25 miles for the round trip so a good ride.
Today it was early start so we managed to get a tennis court for an hour and a half at South Park before the courts were full. Interesting few games, James was off the boil with his serves but he didn’t make too much fuss. Alex has a good eye for the ball as indeed he has for the shuttlecock which we played relentlessly in the garden back home. We took them back to Beckenham Palace ( new name for their home) tonight and have returned to a very quiet home. What with Stuart and family with us at the beginning of the week and four days with James and Alex we are both exhausted. Still, a busy week coming up with final preparations for 21-4-21 in a couple of weeks time.
