Sue and I are off for a short break in Bournemouth tomorrow, so no blog until we return late Saturday. Might be able to do an update on Sunday. 60 mph gales forecast on south coast in next couple of days so we are dressing up for the winter weather and plan long walks in the wind and rain. We don’t mind, the break will be great especially as it is my birthday on Friday, so a restaurant meal will be brilliant after all this time.
Heard that Uncle Les went into hospital last week with a few problems and came out with a pacemaker. He has to rest a while but he can’t wait to get out on his new carbon go- faster bike! Glad he is OK though. It’s hard to imagine that he is 88. Chatted to his daughter Julie today when we were out on our bike ride. She was worried for a while about her Dad but glad he is on the mend.
I have been trying to get the Bank Holiday vaccine rota done tonight, but struggling to get last few places filled. Everyone is taking advantage of the easing of lockdown and going away somewhere. It is now legal to travel abroad but not advised! The rules are becoming somewhat confusing. However, people are flying to places like Portugal and are quite content to have the tests and 10 days quarantine when the get home. the EU has opened up it’s borders to non-EU countries so it’s starting to look more hopeful for our September visit to the villa in Spain. It all depends on who wins the race first. It’s the “spread of the Indian variant” versus “the rate of vaccinations” Time will tell.
Finally to report that my Albino squirrel photo was awarded photo of the day today on the morning BBC South East news. Andy’s wife Sue saw it took a screenshot. I am now a famous photographer ?! 🙂
