Today our 21-4-21 Shelterbox event started off with a photoshoot at Brands Hatch. It was great fun and good to be out with my Rotary club friends again, great break from Zoom. Some excellent photos which will be put to good use for our publicity for our towing a trailer with Shelterbox for 21 miles on June 24th. Many of the photos are already on Facebook, look under “Chas Bedford” and “Catherine Pearce” names.
Yesterday Sue and went for a local walk after the hard showers of the day and another busy vaccination day. By chance I caught a glimpse of an albino squirrel in a tree. I was able to get very close and take a photo with my IPhone. Very pleased with the result so it went on Facebook. BBC South East have been in touch and want to use it as their photo of the week probably starting on Wed. As a non photographer I was quite proud especially as I didn’t use zoom. I am amazed it let me get so close.
Today is phase 3 of the road map reduced restrictions. We are allowed to meet indoors in limited numbers and cafes, restaurants and thankfully hotels are open again. We are off to Bournemouth on Thursday, that will be a nice break.
The Indian variant has now spread to 79 local authorities but hospital cases are very low, indicating hopefully that the vaccines are working. We are still going to have to be very careful.
