I rode my first 10 mile Time Trial yesterday for a couple of years. Time was 30.48 minutes, just outside 30 minutes which is 20mph average. I was pleased particularly as there was a bit of a headwind. Great to see both Les (88) and MikeD (86) both competing, I hope I can manage 38 min and 36 min respectively when I am their age. I rode 20 miles to the start at Tenterden then rode home after coffee, a day’s riding total of 52 miles.
Rest day today so a bit of gardening and local election vote. There was no canvasing locally so we had no idea who to vote for! Couldn’t find candidates on the local website, pretty poor show.
This morning we had our financial assessment for Mum’s care funding from the KCC Social Services. Much better communication than I have had from the Adult Care Service. Sue had all the figures ready for the lady and it only took 15 mins. I still don’t know when the all important Care Assessment will take place. I have left messages but get no response. I was told sometime ago that it “might be next Monday”. David from Barty House has not heard either. This is a terrible service, they don’t reply to messages or phone calls. This is all about Mum’s future, they don’t appear to have any thought about the emotional turmoil this is causing me and the family. A very worrying time.
I have this weekends vaccine rota ready and filled. Today I have been informed that the following weekend will be two complete days of 2nd jab Pfizer jabs. I will start the phone calls tonight.
