After my tooth extraction I have taken life a bit more easily to aid recovery. So much so that on Tuesday, being a glorious day, Sue and I visited Hole Park. After a nice cafe stop in the sunshine at Hartley we drove down to Hole Park. Looking forward to bore Sue by showing her where I did my duathlon, I was disappointed that I cold only point out the rolling farmland in the distance that I had struggled around on Sunday. However, we were confronted by the most beautiful and enchanting gardens and bluebell woods. Hole Park is privately owned and the owner himself was serving tea and cakes at the delightful cafe after the walk. We really enjoyed the visit and was surprised at the number of visitors who were in the main were older than us!
Yesterday was Wobblers day and the weather had turned again. It was freezing cold and some very slight splashes of rain. However, I did my usual visit to get MikeD and then round and round some local roads. I still completed my day on 59 years.
Another gentle rest day today, cleaned Sues’s car and even got my chiminera going in readiness for so more cold weather coming up this May bank holiday. A for the rest of the world, India is still in a very bad way with deaths and Covid cases still increasing. Patients are dying on the street now as all the hospitals are full. Back here there is still a decline in cases and fingers crossed we will have more releasing of restrictions in May.
Our GreatHome Run has almost finished, everyone has done well, Sue has completed her 3,000 skips and I eventually made it to the summit of Everest. In fairness I did count some of my climbs prior to April, but I did work hard to achieve it. It looks like we have raised nearly £3k for our charities and everyone is a bit fitter, so well done everyone.
