14 years ago on 24th April our dear granddaughter Grace died. She is always in our thoughts and we miss her greatly. We are so proud of Stuart and Natalie and of course, the boys in the way they have grown as a family. Ollie was just 3 at the time and both Danny and Toby were born after Grace had passed away. But they all regularly visit the grave and keep it looking so beautiful. Long may that continue.
I have now finished my antibiotics and the tooth infection is just about gone. Before the dentist removes my tooth tomorrow I will get him to confirm, hopefully by another X Ray, that it does need to be removed.
Busy time this weekend, vaccines yesterday then I was waiter for Sue’s garden party to celebrate Mary Lynn’s birthday. The weather was brilliant and warm, unlike today which is very cold with another north wind from the Arctic.
This morning I took part in the Kent Duathlon, my first ever event which is Run-Bike-Run. It was much harder than I anticipated especially as the run was across plowed fields with deep dried out ruts. The risk for a turned ankle was very high so I went steady. My bike section was good and the second run wasn’t as long as the first so I survived. This was my first competing event since Leeds Castle in 2019. 500 hundred runners today all trying to obey Covid distance rules. I felt very comfortable everyone was acting sensibly and well done to the organisers.
For the 4th day in a row, India has reported almost 350,000 cases of Covid in the last 24-hour period and 2,767 deaths.
Many hospitals in Delhi are refusing to accept new patients because they cannot guarantee oxygen supplies. Oxygen tanks are being transported across the country, sometimes with a police escort, and flown in from nearby countries to meet demand. In total, the UK will send nine airline containers of supplies this week, including 495 oxygen concentrators, 120 non-invasive ventilators and 20 manual ventilators.
This Covid Pandemic is far from over yet!
