Today and for the next couple of days we have some summer warmth and sunshine. It is also the first day of Boris’s Road Map for the easing of lockdown. We can now meet in groups of six people outdoors or two families. Golf and other outdoor sports can start. However, by the Easter weekend in a few days time, a cold front from the Artic arrives and we may have some sleet and a bit of snow!
I visited Mum today. She is still doing OK. Malc tried a video call but the connection was poor but at least they were able to see each other. Viv used What’s App and that worked fine. I had a clear up in Mum’s room, loads of used tissues and some other unpleasantries. I spoke to the head of housekeeping who will make sure cleaning standards improve.
Sue and I went to the garden centre and we had a spend on shrubs which I will plant tomorrow on what looks like being a lovely day. First thing tomorrow I will visit the leisure centre and meet the MD for Serco Leisure and we will see what has been done in readiness for opening on April 12th.
Stuart rang tonight, we have arranged for a quick outside visit next Tuesday. He had a bit of a nasty reaction after his vaccination but is OK now. Our friend Steve who was very badly injured in January by a hit and run car, took his first few steps this week which is great news. However, he will need more operations over the next year or two. I keep in touch with him via Strava which is nice.
