Last day of home schooling last Friday so the evening was a mass disco at the Woodley abode and later joined by Beckenham as part of James’s birthday celebration. A lovely cake made by Philippa just a shame we couldn’t have some of it! It was nice to have all the families together albeit on Zoom. We joined in the disco pretending to dance like we used to. All the boys then vanished as they had to go and take part in some game on the computer with all their school mates. Tomorrow they are all back at school, let’s hope we don’t get a huge spike in cases again. Not an easy job for teachers but I am sure they will do their best.
Sue and I have had the past two days on vaccines. Shorter days but tomorrow ( Monday) is a long day and it’s the Pfizer jab again. Quite likely to get some of the oldies back for 2nd jabs.
Some great running stats coming from 11 yr old Danny. 51.04 for a 10k, 5 mins of his previous PB. Poor Mike keeps trying to beat him but Danny gets faster. I did another Old Loose Hill practice on Saturday. I did 10 ascents this time in about 1 hr 10 mins over the 5.25 miles. Very slow but steady. Reached a height of 938 feet. When it comes to the event in April I will probably aim for 7 ascents a day, which should give me an occasional day off as I need 5 ascents every day to reach the summit. Just heard tonight the Mote Runners are entering the GreatHomeRun as a club. They are going to accumulate everybody’s distances on Strava throughout April and see if they can collectively run the distance from Lands End to John O Groats and back again 2,166 miles over the month. No doubt they will include my few miles up Everest!
Mum seems OK, appears to be eating well but once again they report that they have found her dinner in the chest of drawers. They are having to watch her closely. I won’t mention it to her when we meet on Tuesday, she will only ignore me 🙂
