Yesterday Sir Tom passed away from Covid. Much respect for the 100 yr old who raised over £30 million last year by his long walk. He captured the heart of the nation and gave us all a lift in dark times.
ME15 has had a short run in the national headlines. We haven’t seen anything going on but friends in a nearby road were appalled by the masses of press and TV all ignoring safe distancing rules blocking up the road.
Sue and I decided to go to the County Showground and we had a Covid test each. All very well organised, we had a reply as soon as soon as we were home. Negative thankfully. So my case, two vaccinations and a negative test. However, I can still catch Covid and can also pass it on, so the precautions still remain.
Only Saturday for our Blackthorn vaccinations this week. I have done the rota and have included several first timers. Not sure how the future will pan out as there are more mass vaccination centres opening up. They have already helped to push up the national number of people vaccinated so far to over ten million. We have re-directed some of our volunteers to help at the new centre in Tonbridge, which we are pleased about. We still have plenty of willing helpers.
