This morning I set off on a decent distance run. After about two miles the forecast “light drizzle” became a torrent for the remainder of the run. Westerhill, became a rivulet as I run down it and from then on I was soaked. Fortunately, I wore my lightweight cycling waterproof so I kept reasonably warm. In fact I was very warm as I climbed the steep Vanity Lane Hill. Once on top I decided to try and run a good distance. After 1 hr 47 minutes I was home and straight in the warm shower. Overall I was really pleased, no injuries or strains and I completed 9.14 miles, the furthest I have run since logging onto Strava a few years ago. Bearing in mind I climbed 915ft in elevation I was pleased with my overall pace of 11.47mins/per mile. I have entered the Chilham Duathlon on 21st March, only the sprint one 5k run, 27Km bike and 3.5Km run but hopefully it will get me back into a competitive stride, which I missed all last year. I must stay fit and above all free from injury.
Sue continued her home schooling with Toby. He was a bit tired today, too many late nights methinks. Next week Natalie is at home so he might get some Maths done! Danny is doing well he just gets on with his work as do James and Alex as far as we know.
Spent a lot of time trying to buy a new dishwasher online today. Apparently, there are only a very few German models available at most outlets. In the end I bought one at Curry’s. They will deliver , install and recycle the old one on Feb 10th. Until then it’s “Hands that do dishes should be soft as your face, with mild green Fairy Liquid” Gosh I am getting old if I remember that advert!
More vaccines may be available soon, UK is doing well and hopefully on Boris’s target of all over 80s vaccinated by middle of February. Apart from Xmas, this is our first weekend since off we started to help out at Blackthorn on 19th Dec. We are looking forward to getting some vaccines for next week.
