Stayed indoors most of the day. Did some housework whilst Sue did her online teaching with young Toby. Better response today, he may settle down a bit more when he has his own laptop soon and somewhere to work with less distractions.
Sue and I went for a short work in the afternoon. I got further than I did yesterday. The pain is easing so I am combining a cold compress every few hours and then slight exercise, hence the walk. Tomorrow Sue has Spanish lessons followed more online teaching so I won’t get near the computer. Tomorrow rain is forecast so I may well go into the loft and start to sort out a few boxes, which I was meaning to start through the lockdowns last year.
Whilst Covid deaths were high again today, there is very slight glimmer of hope in the Maidstone area as new cases have fallen very slightly. However, it is still 765 per 100.000 which is now closer to the national average. No complacency though as the Govt are warning that there will be greater tightening of enforcement of rule breaking and some major supermarkets are banning people who won’t have a face covering, unless exempt. Some say that if they have a medical reason for not wearing a mask they shouldn’t be shopping in any case. There is also a suggestion that the rule on exercising outside may be reduced to one person to reduce the chance of mixed gatherings. Not sure what all the couples going for a walk will make of that! I would miss my bike rides with Sue and occasionally MikeD, but it would be small price to pay if it helps reduce the spread of the virus.
