I have been reading the daily care reports for Mum over the last few days and there are signs that Mum is having a difficult time. She is eating but not regularly which is not good. I expect she is losing weight steadily. It was noted that the carers have to use a standing aid sometimes to help her out of bed and then sit her in her chair. Having said that they reported this evening that she keeps walking ( presumably on her frame) out of the room and despite them keep telling her that she mustn’t leave her room she takes no notice! If it wasn’t so sad I would have to smile, well done Mum, you are a very determined lady! They also report some phlegm discharge so until I speak to a medic I don’t know if that is Covid related or another cause. I shouldn’t speculate but Mum clearly isn’t enjoying life any more stuck in her room. It must be soul destroying despite all the good work by the staff.
Day 3 of our vaccination programme completed today, it all went well but somewhat cold for Sue and I standing outside in minus 3 degrees! However, all very worthwhile. That is 55 x 2 hour shifts completed in all so far by our great team of volunteers assisting the surgery staff who are brilliant. Maybe just one day next weekend, but waiting to hear about that.
Hi Clive thanks for the updates and sorry to hear Mary is struggling bless her. She is an amazing lady. Sending you our love
