One in 85 people in England now have Covid. In Wales it is 1 in 60. As I write this we have just had a phone call from our close friend MaryL and she has got Covid. I cannot believe that there are still people going to ignore the law and joining with another household for Xmas Day !! So irresponsible!
Breaking news, a Brexit deal has been reached. Boris is claiming great victory and we have control over all we now do! However, there is a lot in the detail and that has to be scrutinised and agreed in EU countries and our Parliament. We shall see what the future holds in due course. At least we are not leaving without a trade deal.
I had a 6.5 mile run this morning. Bitterly cold North wind but it is dry with some sunshine. Sue and I had a walk to the cemetery then I took some photos of Xmas lights. Not too good as it was still fairly light,
We are concerned about MaryL as she didn’t sound too good on the phone. She still has her son, daughter-in-law and their daughter living with her whilst waiting for major building work to be completed at their home. Both have been working in the police and the daughter until recently has been at school so there has been plenty of opportunity for virus transmission. We hope Mary doesn’t get worse whilst she isolates. We had had no physical contact with Mary for several weeks so from that perspective we are OK. That is two people we know of now with Covid that lived within a few hundred metres of us. My friend Mike D came over with a gift for us but didn’t stay, he is very nervous and still awaiting a call for a vaccine jab.
