Unfortunately, there are a few cases now at Barty, which is so sad after they have done so well with precautions. Mum seems to be Ok at the moment and all residents are isolated in their rooms which Mum won’t like. I told management that they should explain the situation to Mum, she will understand. Hopefully they have by now. Although not official yet, but the chances of seeing Mum on Christmas Day seems almost nil. We will be informed on Monday.

Meanwhile vaccinations started this evening at Blackthorn Surgery where I have been drawing up the rota for the next 3 days. There were only 20 to vaccinate this evening as it was a a bit of a trial run. However, tomorrow morning we start in earnest and it’s 30 vaccines per hour for the next three days. There was some trauma on our shift tonight, an elderly lady fell and has seriously injured her head. Nothing to do with the vaccine, this was on the way in. A couple of ambulances arrived and paramedics but there were of course, doctors on site to help. We of course, kept out of the way. Hope the poor lady pulls through. A few people didn’t turn up so they had a few vaccines left over which have to be disposed of so it was offered to us. So Andy and I both had our first jab and have to return on 8th January for the second. Sue was advised not have it this time due to her past medical record of reactions to some jabs. They think the next vaccine will be better for her.

Early start tomorrow so of to bed as soon as I have drunk my small glass of brandy.
