The first Covid vaccinations took place today on the over 80s. This of course is good news but there is a long way to go. It is expected that it will take into the Spring before most of the country are immunised. The programme is massive, they have started in hospitals and first up are those who are administering the vaccinations. Next week GPs will start on the wider over 80s population. Our Rotary club has been invited once again to help locally. Details sketchy at the moment but we will most likely help with stewarding people and marshalling vehicles. We are likely to be at the Practice at Barming. There should not be queues as there will be individual appointments made and GPs will notify those who are invited to have the vaccination. It is voluntary but is hoped that the majority will get it.

Cases continue to rise in Kent and cases are now increasing in other parts of the South East as well. The overall situation in the rest of England is improving.

Meanwhile Mum has played bingo for 2 hours today! Unbelievable, she always hated bingo and when she was living at the flat at Vinters she never joined in that particular activity! She also ate beef for lunch today, something she never ate at home. I’m not complaining, I am just amazed how well she has settled in at Barty House.

I managed a 2000 metre swim today. There were only three people swimming in my session this afternoon, I had a lane to myself, just right.
