Yes some snow on the hills last night and loads of rain. I set off to Headcorn on the bike this morning, the valley in The Quarries was completely impassable because of floodwater. We had no snow in Loose but once I was up at Chart Sutton there had been plenty. After nearly 50 miles when I was returning home in Kingswood a substantial snowman had been built in someone’s front garden so they had plenty of snow up there. Today was very cold again, I met two friends in Headcorn then we had a lovely ride around the weald to Bethersden and back to Headcorn airfield where once again I had one of their lovely veggie sausage rolls. They are working hard to keep the cafe viable and open, so as many as possible of us bike riders are doing our best to keep them in business.
Not much sport news today, Maidstone didn’t have a game but Gills won, very worrying they are very near the play off positions. Be careful, the Gills don’t do promotion!
Good news! Boris is intervening in a last ditch move to get a deal with EU. He will now play his master card by agreeing that EU countries can fish for five undersize fish a day in our waters. That will be it, he has triumphed and becomes a National hero!
Enough cynicism, it is worrying times, Covid is still a massive problem especially on our doorstep and the real Brexit is about to happen. My personal views do not matter at all now, everyone of us has to do our bit to minimise the damage.
