15 degrees this afternoon, so we have made the most of it. I did another couple of charity collections then Sue wanted a ride out so we took her friends birthday present to her in Bearsted. We went through Mote Park, amazed at number of people out walking and enjoying the sunshine. Not everyone social distancing sorry to say, there does seem to be a fair amount of casual response to the virus, which is still increasing. Maidstone is up to 130 per 100k. Still below the national average but moving that way.
Back home I took advantage of the fine weather and even mowed the lawn which is still growing and it’s November! I had a bit of a tidy up in our “Upper Meadow” which unbelievably is still displaying some summer flowers. As dusk appeared late afternoon I finished my draft proposal to the Rotary Club suggesting a new format for how we can attract more volunteers. I have sent it to two like minded colleagues and we will discuss it next week. It was 5 pages long in the end and I must have revised it a dozen times before it was sent.
I have not been over subscribed by donations of Xmas items for the Festive hampers to be given to the vulnerable and isolated. However, there are plenty of us collecting and it all has to go to Involve charity in Maidstone next week where it will be sorted packed and distributed. Sue and I will be helping with that. It is nice to have the time available these days for this rewarding work.
Tomorrow is Sue’s birthday, she wants to go to the seaside for a walk. We have chosen Hastings as it is near and it has a very low Covid count of about 56 cases per 100K. Hope it’s another nice day.
