I did my second collection of Xmas items for Involve. I had placed a request to my local Loose Community FB page. As a result I have had just one positive offer which I collected this morning. A couple of others said they will be in touch when they have been shopping. I have set aside Thursday to collect so hopefully there might be some more interest.
Sue and I rode our bikes to our farm shop for our fresh vegetables and on the way called in at the bike shop where I have now booked in Sue’s bike for new tyres, an upgrade on the gears and a full service. It will be the first service it has ever had since we bought it about 15 years ago. Should cost a fair amount but Sue deserves it as she is enjoying her cycling. So that’s her Xmas present sorted ??!!
This afternoon I went for a 3.6 mile run. Took 42 mins at a pace just under 12 mins miles. A steady pace, slow enough to hopefully avoid injury.
Tonight was our Rotary Club’s two weekly meeting. our speaker was Hester from our twinning Dutch club. Great to hear all about Covid in Holland. Sounds very similar to the issues we have except that people are not legally required to wear masks and social distance. Strangely their recorded cases are starting to fall. Meanwhile back in UK cases still rising but news of the new vaccine has gone to the heads of some. There is so much traffic about, nothing like a lockdown. I can see this going on through Xmas.
Young Grandson James did his music theory exam today. His answer to how did you get on was “fine” As a talented young musician who plays the piano, bassoon and drums without reading the music, his theory test might not have been too easy for him. We await the result in due course.
