South Yorkshire are now moving into Tier3 restrictions and throughout the country cases are increasing even here in Kent where we are still amongst the areas having the lowest number of cases. Having said that, Swale have now exceeded 100 cases in every 100, 000 so I think it’s just a matter of when, not if, we go into Tier 2 or alternatively the Govt are forced to invoke a national lockdown. At the moment they are resisting calls for one. In our case we benefit from the existing arrangements, but it does not help those suffering in the country as a whole.
I spent the day at home today as the weather was atrocious. We caught the tail end of Storm Barbara so I refrained from getting soaked with Wobblers. I doubt if many or even any, ventured out. Friend Mike didn’t go so as tomorrow looks quite nice, he and I are going for a morning ride.
I took the time to call my old KFB friend and sailing partner, Bill as we hadn’t touched base for many months. Unfortunately, he is having a very difficult time with his adopted son and it is causing him a lot of stress. We spent an hour on the phone. I wish him and his wife all the very best and I will make a better effort to keep in touch more regularly.
