Nice bike ride today with our group of 6. A flat route on familiar roads. My ride was 47 miles. Home for my Saturday bath ritual. Since I was a teenager, then playing football, late Saturday afternoons were always bath time whilst listening to the afternoon football commentaries and results on the radio. More recently it is the same ritual but following my bike ride. Today I listened to the Maidstone Utd commentary. They won 4-1 and are playing well even though it is only the third game of the season. There are no spectators allowed because of Covid so it is strange not hearing the cheers and groans of fans.

Our cafe stop on our bike ride today was at Headcorn Airfield. Interesting time, both the war time Harvards and the Spitfires were airborne as was a bi-plane with a wing walker ( sitting) on top. Not something that is on my bucket list but interesting to watch especially as the warplanes were buzzing around as well.

Heating Control Unit at home is defective so having to get an engineer out to investigate tomorrow. Also washing machine spinner sounds like a warplane taking off so it looks like I’ll have get an engineer in to sort it. It’s hard being in charge of home defects!

Mum’s notes show she is eating and drinking well and behaving herself. For the moment we are still in Tier 1 so my visit should be OK for Friday, but it is a shame Viv can’t visit her now.
