Our second chance to visit Mike and family after last week’s problems with Sue. Another wet and windy day today so we just went for the afternoon for tea and cakes. Sue and Philippa each made a cake so that was Ok. Not much left after the boys demolished them!

It was great to see the family again after so very many weeks. Unfortunately, Mike was not feeling so good but the boys were in fine form. I managed to get some video clips of them playing their instruments. Alex is playing some simple blues on the piano now and he is coming along nicely with his cello. James did us a piece on the piano which he enjoys, really loud and full of energy. I will show Mum the clips when I see her tomorrow. I hope she can hear Ok, I’ll call the home in the morning to make sure the hearing aid battery is working Ok for when I get there.

Both boys doing well at school and both are learning Mandarin. James gave us a lesson, he is able to write a bit in Chinese and speak a few words. When they get to working age this language will be a very useful skill. We are back in Beckenham next Sunday to look after the boys whilst M and P have an orchestra practice. This is the first get together for some of the orchestra since lockdown. They are both missing their performances.

President Trump is still in hospital but sources say he is doing well and will be out soon, but anything from USA is hard to believe nowadays.
