A hectic couple of days. On Sunday morning before we were due to visit Mike and family. Sue went to bathroom, fainted and banged her head. She came round within a minute but was sick. Back to bed but she was not well at all. Cancelled the trip and I monitored her during the day. She got up Monday and was dizzy on several occasions, but by Tuesday she was up and about albeit being slow and careful. By the evening she felt fine. Yesterday morning she was Ok so I went for my bike ride but came home quite early. Sue was cold and feeling very dizzy. She phoned the doctor. After a long waiting time to get through and then another long wait for a doctor to ring back, she eventually spoke to her doctor who then advised a trip to A&E.
We arrived at A&E at about 2.30 pm. I wasn’t allowed in of course, due to Covid restrictions, so I spent a lonely 6.5 hours in the car, roaming around the hospital and grounds in the pouring rain. For the first time ever we really appreciated having mobile phones. It was the only means of communication, by texting, that Sue and I had. An ECG was carried out then a long wait to have a CT scan. Nothing that was obviously serious was found thank goodness, although the medics did thoroughly check her for a stroke, but she did not show any of the associated signs. We eventually left the hospital at 8.30pm and went home via the fish and chip shop! Today Sue has not had any dizziness thank goodness, a quiet day and fingers crossed. We went for a short walk in the valley to enjoy the sunshine before heavy rain sets in for next few days. Back just in time before big shower arrived, lovely rainbow though.
On Tuesday night I went for a 5k run with the club and the pace increased a bit more than I like and just before the end the niggling pain in the buttocks which I had previously had on similar occasions, came to the fore. Today the pain is still there but does ease when I move about. Coincidentally, at the time I had just booked an appointment for next week with a sports physio about the pain I get in my right foot when I have cycled or run a long distance. Hopefully, the physio might address each ailment in my 45 min session. Probably not though, so I foresee a few expensive sessions looming.
