The good news is that her car passed the MOT today. So it should after only 17, 000 miles on the clock since new. The not so good news is that it needs a new air con condenser – over £1900, New Cam Belt – £549, Break fluid change £69. I decided to pay for the MOT and the minor service and look elsewhere for help with the other stuff. So I contacted an expert, Sue’s brother Richard, who despite selling his garage several years ago, still works there as a manager. He will investigate and get back to me tomorrow. We will no doubt have the cam belt and brake fluid done but will wait and see what the air con will cost. Apparently, the engineer has to be registered and Richard recommend such a person. We will see what happens tomorrow.
Sue has had a quiet day still feeling very weak from her bout of illness. I have helped where I can but my domestic skills are limited and in the words of one of my sons, I am useless! That’s good coming from someone who has a job changing a light bulb!
Mum’s care notes show Mum as ticking along, but that will probably change when she sees me tomorrow afternoon. No doubt we will have the headaches and dizziness performance again. Never mind as long as she is kept safe I am happy. The notes have reported however, that she continues to hide the alarm mat under the bed as she doesn’t want to disturb the staff!
