A couple of days of very light exercise to distract me from my slowly improving swollen cheek. Yesterday Sue and I went for a walk on Bluebell Hill and enjoyed a light snack and coffee by Kits Coty, the neolithic burial chamber. Today, the last day of August and the summer we drove to Rye, parked up at Pett Level then rode our bikes along the sea front cycle /pedestrian path. A lot of people about as it was Bank Holiday. However, we had lovely fish and chips by the river in Rye, having to constantly defend them from the seagulls. We then had a pleasant walk around the old town then returned on our bikes the way we had come. A pleasant sunny day and although much cooler than of late the wind was light so the sunshine was warm.
Back home I spoke to my old school chum Richard who lives in Devon. We are going to meet up on one of the days in the week that we are visiting Malc and family. Planning to meet Richard and Carol at Bude and have a nice stroll along the coast path and catch up on the news and our old times. We are really looking forward to it.
It’s Day 3 of the Tour de France, I spent much of Saturday watching Day 1 and the carnage in the rain. I saw some of Day 2 and today’s highlights tonight. No great British interest this year although Adam Yates is second overall at the moment, but it’s early days yet.
Checked out Mum’s care notes, she had her head stitches out yesterday but today it appears they found another three to remove this morning and this afternoon another two! Perhaps the nurses had their masks on over their eyes! Glad to see Mum is still keeping them on their toes, today she managed to miss the pressure mat a couple of times and broke quarantine. They soon got her though. Less than a week in quarantine and I will get to see her next Monday.
