Visited Mum at Pembury Hospital in ward 31 Bed 5. She is black and blue, 2 black eyes a stitched head and she he has had a partial hip replacement. Despite all that she was pleased to see me and I chatted with her for 40 mins before she went off for an X Ray. She cannot remember anything about the fall or what her injuries are. I explained it all to her but I doubt if she will remember. She is not in pain, but of course she is on high doses of pain killers and I have no doubt that as they reduce them she will unfortunately, feel less well. Having said that she is in good hands, I spoke to the the Physio who said she would be there for a week or so, it all depends on how well she progresses . They are keen for her to get back to Barty as it is a nursing home and she can continue physio there. I don’t want them to rush particularly as we can visit every day at the moment. This week Sue, Gary and Les will get a chance to see her. I will do the other days.
She is amazing to have survived the operation so we mustn’t expect too much. I will go with Sue tomorrow and it will be her turn to see Mum. She will also find out what Mum needs i.e. toothbrush, clothes etc. It never crossed my mind to find out!
