A lovely warm sunny day but I have had a worsening tooth ache over the past few days so tomorrow I’ll need to phone the dentist, unwelcome action is needed. I bought a new inner tube and sorted out young Jasper’s bike, he is the eldest son of our lovely next door neighbours. It was nice to mend something mechanical, not normally my remit!
I finished the draft Briefing Note that I will use to address our Rotary club online tomorrow about next years 21 mile walk with the trailer. All looking good so far. Norman came round so we could have some photos taken in preparation for the event publicity.
Had a very rare call from my cousin Roy in Manchester. He has been trying to ring Mum but of course, her home phone is now disconnected. I apologised that I hadn’t told him of the move, but we had a nice catch up chat. I must tell Mum when I see her on Friday.
Speaking of Mum, appears today she played bingo which according to the staff she really enjoyed! Unbelievable, she has always hated bingo and vowed never to play it. Looks like she is getting used to care home life.
It looks like our holiday is doubtful. Coved 19 is breaking out again in parts of France and with the Catalonian lockdown the French PM is considering closing the borders between France and Spain. If it is only the main border through Catalonia, we might be able to enter Spain further West, but not if he closes all of the border. I have tried twice to get in touch with our contacts in Spain but no word from them yet, again it doesn’t look good.
