A brighter and slightly warmer day and Sue was getting her haircut, so I decided to go for a ride with friend Mike. We headed North this time and reaching Offham we stopped at Spadework Cafe at Offham but found that the cafe would remain closed until October. We decided not to wait and continued onto Wrotham Heath and Addington where I showed Mike the remains of the Neolithic stone circle. One of several in the area which i discovered a while ago. Back to A20 and onto W Malling where we had coffee and cake at our favourite Mills Cafe. Great to see it up and running again. Thanks Mike for the treat. We parted at North Pole pub and I returned home via Barming Bridge. A lovely 36 miles today.

Feeling reasonably fresh I then decided to go for a 4.35 mile run, again a nice plod mainly using back paths.

Sad news today, Jack Charlton died aged 85. He had been ill for a while, but a great loss. Not many of the 1966 team left now.

Deaths from Covid slightly up again and in some parts of the country the R level has exceeded 1. Not a good sign. Next weekend is looking very warm so I am sure the idiots will be out in force packed onto the beaches, swilling about in alcohol.
