Pubs, cafes, restaurants re-opened today despite the risk from Covid Virus still existing in England. Police are on standby tonight to deal with those who drink too much and cause trouble. Still a lot of confusion over what we can and can’t do. But now non-essential travel is permitted to certain countries, I have booked a ferry for September, we plan to drive through France to the villa. We are taking our friend Mary and all being well we will stay for a month. The quarantine rules have been been dropped but the rules didn’t seem didn’t seem to apply to the PM’s father who flew to Greece to “check his villa”! and today it appears that Nigel Farage jumped quarantine early to go the pub. That is on top of the row about Dominic Cummings some time ago, for which he was never punished.
Today James and Alex arrived and Mike and Philippa are having a couple of quiet days before going to Camber Sands on Monday to stay at their rented cottage for a well earned break. We will have the boys this weekend and then take them to Camber to join their parents for their holiday. We will stay with them Monday night and then we come home on Tuesday.
This afternoon Sue, myself and the boys cycled to South Park where we spent some active time at the skate park and play areas. Tomorrow we hope to go to Northiam in Sussex where we have hired two single kayaks and tandem kayak. It is on the narrow River Rother so very safe. There are strong winds forecast we just hope it isn’t cancelled.
