Today I booked the 0700 ferry for Calais on 9th Sept to return, probably on 7th Oct. Our friend Mary is coming with us and we will drive to the villa stopping overnight near Limoges in a chateaux ! then down to Millau, near the famous bridge. I have booked each overnight stop and after Millau I’ll drive all the way to the villa. There will be plenty of jobs to sort out but we will have plenty of time to visit friends and explore new places.
The big question mark is what will the virus situation be then? If things stay as they are and people take the lockdown easing sensibly, we should be OK. However, tonight’s news reported a second spike in Leicester which will probably involve a local lockdown. However, if idiots continue to ignore all the rules and guidance, at least one eminent medic has predicted that we could all be on lockdown again by October. That could mean us being quarantined in Spain. That could delay our return but as long as we are prepared I am sure we will cope.
Nice 15 mile bike ride with Sue today. We went to farm shop at Frankies then a country lane route back via Church Hill. Sue did really well only having to walk the short very steep middle bit. I managed very easily on the E Bike!
Tomorrow is Ray’s funeral, we are not looking forward to it, but I am honoured to be reading a poem on behalf of Ray’s wife Diane.
