Nice switch off day today. Went for a 40 mile ride, met friend Mike and off we went into East Sussex, including some roads new to me. Lovely warm sunny day. Stopped for a nice coffee at Bells View Green. Took some of Sue’s home made cake with us. Very nice till a gust of wind threw mine to the ground. Never mind Mike ate all of his. Road back to Mike’s place in Brenchley. His wife was out with the door keys, fortunately next door neighbour had a spare. Very noticeable today, loads of traffic including the country lanes. When we crossed the A21 there were two lanes of almost stationary traffic in the direction of the coast. That doesn’t take much working out. However, also a lot of commercial vans about. I think the ease of lockdown has now got loads of tradesman out working full time including weekends to try and catch up on their lost work and income.
Nice evening for a BBQ and lovely to talk to Stuart on the phone about Ollie’s success in getting a college place. Well done Ollie and to Stu and Nat for helping him to get there.
Couldn’t bear to watch much of the news it was all about the idiots in London all protesting against each other and breaking all the social distancing rules. What is the matter with people, we are not out of this Covid mess yet!
