Another little ride on our bikes today to incorporate healthy living, visiting an elderly relative and shopping. Boris would be proud of us. A bit more traffic on the roads as the PM has allowed some people or even encouraged them to return to work. Still a lot of confusion what we can or cannot do and no time yet for rapid return to pre- pandemic. Golfers are pleased as they have been given a restricted go ahead as with outdoor tennis. Getting the balance right is very difficult as we need the economy started up again. It was predicted today that we will have the worst recession ever known. Just to add to the woe, the WHO think we may never get rid of the virus and we may have to live with it.
We returned Mum’s clean washing on our bike ride. We found Mum reasonably Ok and appeared to not have her dizziness today, which is a relief. She admitted to slipping getting into bed last night and has grazed above her eye and bruised her arm. Nothing serious hopefully. From Mum’s flat we rode back through the park, called in to see Peter & Judy from a safe distance and then we went to Ralphs farm shop at Chart Sutton. Sue managed to fully fill both of my panniers with veggies which slowed me down somewhat on the way home. Sue is getting stronger on her bike and managed to get up Tea Saucer Hill. 715ft of hill climbs today in 12.7 miles.
A relief this evening, no desperate phone calls from Mum. I have got word from the new Invicta Care Home that as a special case they would accommodate Mum for two weeks respite if we needed it. However, we are going to wait to see how our trip to the doctors goes tomorrow, an increase in medication might help her to reduce her dizzy spells. I would rather have her at home rather than in a home when we cannot visit.
I had a trustees meeting in the afternoon. Some important decisions coming up and we need to be on the ball. Big 3 way meeting on Monday. The MBC Chief Executive wants to have a conference call with me sometime next week. I need to be up to speed with the issue in hand.
