Hospital deaths down to 418 today, a good sign but still no sign of any lockdown respite as yet. However, looks like the PM will be back at work and taking the lead again this week after his Covid-19 trauma.
Today has been probably the last sunbathe day for while. Some rain forecast this week which will be quite welcome for the gardens. Sue and I took another 4.5 mile walk this morning. Many people out doing the same but we kept to different routes and enjoyed the countryside. Having had a dry April it is amazing how much spring water is still running off the hills into the Loose River. It seems ages ago that we went to find it’s source.
James FaceTimed us this afternoon and asked if we could help with his bassoon practice. Sue used her vast knowledge of musical scales and was able to help a little but mainly we just gave encouragement and support. He said it was his best practice for a while and Mike agreed! Also a day with no computer and he wasn’t too perturbed. He did sound grown up, we really do miss seeing and playing with all our grandchildren. Some grandparents we know are breaking the rules and visiting or have their grandkids visiting them. We can understand the frustration but they could be spreading the virus.
I mowed the lawn this afternoon and finished preparing the ShelterBox trailer. No other medical collections yet, I hope I get some to do soon.
Off to see Mum tomorrow morning, hope her weekend has been OK.
