No sign of improvement yet. 813 hospital deaths today from Covid-19 and the total is now over 20k. The Chief Medical Officer had been hoping to keep the figure below that. Unfortunately, it looks like the deaths are still increasing. The only glimmer of hope is that there has been a reduction in people going to hospital with the symptoms, so there is some capacity, especially in Intensive Care.
I went for a decent bike ride this morning. Visited Mum first. Not too special, headache and dizziness overnight and she looked quite forlorn. I got her to speak to Viv on Whats App video. Viv was pleased to see her but Mum wasn’t really up to it. I’ll try again when she feels better. After giving her a paracetamol and dizzy pill she was feeling a bit better.
I then cycled up onto the Pilgrims Way which had plenty of cyclists and walkers on it. I stopped for a chat at distance with two tennis friends, they had been for their statutory walk. I then decided to go up onto the Downs via Coldblow Lane. Over cast morning but brightened up later but a lot cooler than of late. 30 miles today and then iI did a short run to Linton X roads via Old Loose Hill. Enough elevation hopefully to put me in 3rd place in the weekly Mote Runners leader board.
