Today has been lovely weather a bit of cloud about, but this is definitely the end. Tomorrow maximum here is 9 degrees! Went for a short run with Sue early on (2.2 miles ) then I did a local 4.14 miles. Spent the rest of day in garden lazing and some gardening. Stats today show there are now over 10,000 cases of Covid-19. One expert says we could be on target to have the worst disaster in Europe. Lockdown goes on.
Got a call this morning from Chantelle, Mum’s carer. Despite us turning off the hobs yesterday Mum turned them back on and was warming up some tea in a saucepan. She declined lunch from the carer. She had the table set up and laid and told the carer that Clive & Sue are bringing lunch today. I told the carer that we visited yesterday and I would be in on Tuesday. Mum is getting really forgetful now and sadly quite awkward. I think that she just forgot about the cooker and today’s arrangements. If not she is just being very awkward. Nothing to be gained by me keep going every time there is a little problem. She must start to accept the carers.
We spoke to the Woodley family today, they are managing as best as they can. Mike is finding it hard today, it is a long haul. He got tent pitched in garden today so that was a nice distraction and apparently it was a “Fortnight” ( computer game) free day. Hope it was received with quiet acceptance! Our next door neighbour’s boys handed us a chocolate rice crispy cake for Easter. They had to place it in on a table to maintain social distancing. Very nice cake, but tons of chocolate. After my run I was down to 12 stone, but I think it has increased again now!
