Over 900 deaths today and that is only people in hospitals with Covid-19. Many more in care homes and at home. Message is still lockdown- stay at home with the few exceptions.
Sue and I went to give Mum dinner, change bedding and take home washing. Caring for the very vulnerable is one of the exceptions, so OK there. Then late afternoon I went for a very local run, again another exception so OK. Weather in low 20 s today, most unusual for April, I fell asleep in the garden for a while!
Has a conference call at 4.00pm re- future of Leisure Centre and finances in the crisis. Keeps my my mind active even though mine is a voluntary role as Chairman of the Leisure Trust but a lot of responsibility, just like being at work.
Today the Chancellor pledged £750 million to help charities but that is minimal compared to the loses charities are enduring during the lockdown. Thought occurred to me, I know of a few people, my triathlon friend Les, my brother Malc and myself who are self or more generally, sponsoring their exercise routines. We are doing ours for Parkinsons but whatever charity, what a difference it would make if all of us stay at home exercise takers did the same. I might suggest it on Face Book!
