So last night the inevitable happened. The PM had been pleading with people to not meet in groups, but many ignored it. The lovely weather saw parks filled and beaches crowded. So we now have a lockdown. With a few exceptions everyone must stay at home. Visiting an at risk relative is allowed so I can still visit Mum, but I will keep the visits to a minimum. Mum is now having two visits per day from the carers. I gave her that information yesterday to which she replied that she doesn’t need the help, despite her not accepting or not making a lunch. She also denied having a fall the other day, she thought it was just a slip and would have called me if she needed help! As frustrating as I find her, we can’t help but smile at her tenacity, she is a strong, not so young, lady.

The upside to this crisis is that we are getting some jobs done at home. Yesterday, I pressure washed the BBQ and all the garden furniture. Today I will clean the cars. All shops other than for food and medical stuff have been closed. We must not meet in groups of more than 2 people other than from the same household. We can go out for a walk, run or cycle but only once a day. Parks are open but not leisure centres, tennis courts etc where people might congregate. Stuart and Mike are taking the boys to open spaces well away from anyone to give them exercise.

In all this mayhem, we of course, all remember our dear Grace who would have been 14 today. We miss her now and always will.

Birthday Girl, 14 today.
A May job done in March!
