As if things are not bad enough already, Mum had a fall yesterday morning. Audrey her neighbour saw on the floor in the lounge. Sue and I arrived quickly. Mum couldn’t get up but was conscious but a little confused. Rianne the carer arrived just after us and dialled 999. Paramedics arrived in about half an hour. They sat Mum up and did BP and ECG and they were OK. Paras stayed over an hour. No fractures, decided not to go to hospital which Mum and us were pleased about.
Stayed with Mum after they left. Sue made Mum dinner which she ate. Later in afternoon we took her for a short walk. Physically, reasonably OK, we think think she had slipped in the kitchen because her trolley had fallen over and coffee jar spilt. She had made her way to lounge but slid off the chair, which is where we found her. Paras recommended an extra carer so I am arranging that today.
Well, despite doing well at our social distances over the past few days, we had to spend time with Mum. Fingers crossed that we haven’t got the Coronavirus symptoms. Mum was quite confused about the time of day, but that may just be the shock of the fall. Let’s hope so.
The Prime Minister announced a Lockdown this afternoon. From now on we must stay indoors at home for most of the time. One exception is to help vulnerable people, which mum is.
