Well, looking back at earlier blog, I never got to the Tonbridge Tri (poorly) never got to British Championships (bad back). However, having sorted out my back I have now done a few triathlons.
First one in Berkshire, was going to be with Stuart. He DNS due to falling of his bike in the week. I was DNF as I punctured and couldn’t mend it, had to walk 2 miles back to base.
Not to be put off I did the April Ocean Tri at Leybourne. Great fun, fastest in age group. Then entered Cranbrook and won the Super Vets. Today I did Canterbury and won my age group.
Also for preparation for my 10km swim in R Dart in September I raced at Eton Dornay in a3Km Open Water event and won my age group. Particularly pleased as I beat an old rival who was previously GB age group triathlon champion. Glad I didn’t need to bike and run as he would have thrashed me!
SwimRelay is prepared, still need to recruit some more teams, I am sure it will all turn out Ok.
Focussing now on open water training, no more tris till mid September when I will finish the season at Bodium Castle. Not sure I looking forward to swimming amongst all the huge carp they have in the mote!
