With the biggest storm in years looming apparently this evening, today Stuart, Steve and myself did the annual KCA event. Strong winds behind us were great but the home run wasn’t so! We did it in 4hrs 32 mins which I could never have done on my own. However, back at the start there was Les H sinking a pint wearing his his collar and shirt and not looking at all fazed after his 100. He made the 5hrs break with 15 secs to spare. He never fails to amaze me and I am proud to have him as my uncle. 80 years young he is my hero.

My excuse for extreme tired ness is that on Friday I went to Sheffield and competed in the ASA National Masters Swimming Championships and came home with my very first Open National medal. Of course this is age group but even so as it was the 200m breastroke I was pleased to clock at time of 3min 44.88 secs. This is within a second of  my time ten years ago. How long I can push my knee at breastroke is a bit worrying with a similar problem to my triathlon retirement decision. In the morning I did the 1500m freestyle and I was pleased again with a time of 27 mins 29 secs despite only coming 6th.

Time now to give my body a rest for a while. Where are my carpet slippers?!
