What a day! Very nervous as this was the first of my World qualifiers. Had studied opposition and honestly didn’t think I would make top 5 for qualification, but I did!   Staggered over line to find I was 4th and later in day this was revised to 3rd due to penalty minutes added to one of my rivals for drafting. Lovely sunny conditions in Chester, looked after all weekend by cousin Rosemary and husband David who came to the event and was my “coach”. Rosemary came to watch the  end of the race. I was particularly pleased with my bike ride 1:15:17 on the wonderful Felt Flyer. The swim was hectic due to 120 of us on a narrow start line, good fun though plus a few bruises. Run was hard as I had put so much into bike section. Overall time 2:45:42. Straight home to pack bike which has gone overland to Turkey, I will be there next Wed night.

Cramp was painful on exiting the River Dee

All done and smiles with Rosemary
