What a day for a bike ride. Wall to wall sunshine and almost 30 degrees centigrade. What a great end to a lousy summer. April was hot and now it is hot again. The bit in between was rubbish (except in Spain). England squeezed past Scotland to put us in the Rugby World Cup quarter finals and Sue and I had a BBQ and sat and watched the sun go down. It is strange there are leaves falling, the sun is low yet plants are reflowering. The smell of fresh strawberries growing at Yalding was lovely as we rode by. Tomorrow may be even hotter than the 29.9 recorded at Gravesend today. Then it is back to normal and downhill to Christmas. Que sera sera!
