A special one week visit to Venice for 4 days and then to Florence for remainder of week. This was to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and Sue’s 60th birthday. Very impressed with both cities but Venice was rather special. So much to do and see and not a car in sight. We are now both experts on Renaissance paintings but why was every picture of Mary and the baby?! We visited all the usual tourist spots and ate particularly well at Quadri’s in San Marco Square in Venice- courtesy of the generosity of Stuart and Michael and their families.
