A Triathlon consists of 3 disciplines, swimming, cycling and running. The Classic or Standard triathlon is the distance used for the Olympics, 1500 metre swim, 40 Km bike ride and 10km run. Having completed a sprint distance earlier this year which was shorter, I was really looking forward to this test of endurance. The South […]
My first ever triathlon completed. 400m : 20k: 5k 1:23:07 Pleased with result. 74th out of 137 and came first in my age group and won a trophy and bottle of wine! Enjoyable event although as expected legs wobbly after the ride. Next target is the marathon distance at Seaford in […]
The annual gala at Crawley beckoned once again. This is my 5th year. Just 3 of us from Maidstone. Disappointing that we couldn’t get a relay team out this time. However, we managed a sprinkling of decent results. Mine were a bit mixed. Some better than last year, others not. 2 silvers, 3 bronze and a […]
Oct 17th. 3 golds , two silvers at the Medways. This included my first ever freestyle win thanks to a disqualification by someone who can beat me by miles. Most importantly my times were all fractionally better than in the Kents.

Just back from a 4 day course learning how to teach people with disabilities how to move and swim. Good course, learned a lot that I can use when I am at the club. Great fun too but very tiring.
Well despite layoff through injuries through the autumn and horrible man – flu during January, I managed to compete in the championships. Entered 4 individual events – one gold, 2 silvers and a bronze. My times were well short of my best but positions OK. We also put in a relay team and got bronze […]
Despite being out of the water for two months due to hip problems, I managed to get four of my events into within the top ten Brtish Age Group Rankings. In two events I was ranked 5th in the country. After some Bowens therepy and rest I have started easy training again in the past […]
